hi all! i bet you all missed me right =p

gosh man......nepal totally blew me off my feet, i'm starting to miss it already =(

wah i really dunno how to start blogging , i think i will just spam out random memories

i dont think this blog post will ever do enough justice to the experience we had there, so fellow HCI-people-who-went-to-nepal-and-loved-it, forgive me k?

actually, truthfully, i wasnt exactly looking forward to this trip

10 days of my hols

the cold temperature

the poor standard of living etc,etc

and went we touched down at kathmandu, to quote kwang yueh "the airport garden was slightly better than our hwa chong school field", the whole city was congested and polluted, thrash laying everywhere cos the workers were on strike. there were no lanes, and like 1-2 traffic lights in the whole city, and honking was like basic protocool wth -.-!

and, and there were alot of half completed house, which according to the guide was because they no money, so build 1 level, work a few more years, have money, build another level, hahaha damn funy

so i thought this camp was going to be a nightmare

BUT I WAS SOOOOOOO WRONG

i'm really going to miss that 10 days

Waking up to the hot tea in bed

all those lame jokes we shared while trekking

and the mind twisting games you evil people torturted me with

the late night parties we had at each other rooms

cramming 15 people into a room meant for 3 or like 11 people into a room for 2

the laid back lifestyle in the mountains

Rafting, captain jack sparrow and of course the crew of the black pearl =D

the smile on the faces of the kids that we taught

now actually when i think better, the turning point of the trip was on the first night when we banged into jun long and jia han and invited them to our room to party

if that didnt happen,

then we wouldnt have got to known nee-yi/ nebo

then we wouldnt have played polar bear

then we would have had the ortus polar bear session where we got to know andrew and wei zhe and joshua and eugene, hwa peng

then i wouldnt have known john ong

then we wouldnt have had the inter-consortium polar bear session at the watch tower

then i wouldnt have got to known jiawei, bryan chew, jon heng(the other one) , chia yuwei, gerald and alot others hahaha paiseh if i didnt list you all out

then i wouldnt have got to known all those bang-bang/ who many meh meh / black magic / etc logic games......

you get my point ya?

i think without all you guys, nepal trip wouldnt even be 1000000000000000000hundredth as fun =), a big thanks to you all

okay i think should start with the case studies right?

2nd day we went to nagarkot, the bus ride there was friggin scary i tell you, but the view was worth it

then we went to teach at a school, really enriching experience, their school was like the size of the bridge between poolside and block D la.......be grateful guys

but the kids there were darn cute

its like you smile at there, and there's a whole room of beaming faces

you do that in singapore and all you'll probably get are weird stares Zzz

omg wincoln looks like one of them hahahahahah sorry sorry, no offence

and ya, they were suppose to follow what we said as we read through all the body parts

hahaha, so cute that i wanna adopt one of them la hahah

oh ya we also had alfresco dining sia [/smirks]

haha and that night damn funny, wincoln wanted to bathe, then there was hot water, so he chiong in, then 2 minutes later sudden "WAH LAO!!! NO MORE HOT WATER" like some animal roaring hahahahahah.
oh ya and before dinner there was a blackout, so me and jia han went outide totally picked dark, then when we looked up. WOW........ right up there were more stars then i've ever seen in my entire life put together

alot alot of other events took place like how we discovered Jun Long was scared of heights, not like high heights(10m+) but like 2m drop -.-! and how we caught our first glimpse of the snow capped anapura range(spelling?) during sunset, the peak of the mountain was glowing red and just peeped out above the clouds on the horizon. beautiful.........

okay move on, 3rd day RAFTING

hahaha omg i'm so happy that we ( wincoln, zijie, shijun, ksx, jiahan, jon heng cp, andrew, wei zhe) GOT CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW AS OUR GUIDE WAHAHH

captain jack sparrow was the dude that briefed then, someone, i think it was jia han suddenly said, "he talks like jack sparrow" then we were all like yaaa.....hahahahaha damn funny la

then he is like uber cool lor, the way he shouts the commands damn cool la ....foRWARD!!! hahahaha memories

while other groups were practicing their commands and stuff we were attacking them hahahaha by command of our captain, when we attack we just mean using paddles and splash water at them

from last we strafed past and drench everyone before the rapids even begin hahaha, made enemies with everyone including the rescue kayak guy ahahah

then jack sparrow kept bragging about how strong he was last time when he won all the fights in school,

The rapids were cool sia, quite a few people fell out of the raft i think, but the black pearl sustain NO DAMAGE hahahahaah =p

we totally rocked la, with our rear cannon, namely andrew and wei zhe, no one could come close la. Then we kept making "peace" but ehem, ya la you know what always happen, cos we are double-crossing pirates =).

the water was damn cold

kudos to our frontmen, zijie and wincoln for tanking most of the damage ahahah

when we hit the rapid its really damn fun la

think......adrenaline of roller coaster + the jerkiness of bumpercar + droping feeling of viking

and the scenery was beautiful too, quote shijun "wah the scenery like from geo textbook"

wah you really have to be there to experience it. okay better move on

4th day

so begines our 4 day trek

ironically the most difficult part was the first hour

haha everyone was like killed by the near vertical climb

but in the end the rest of the trek was rather slack ahaha

we kept finishing in like 3/4 of the esimtated time , so we had alot alot of time for slacking lol

first 2 days of treking was mainly spend looking out for cow dung and stuff, kindda wasted

but for the first day of treking, we stopped at this village called "heaven's gate"

it was quite high up and the temperature was super cold

but i liked that place, the atmosphere very kampong-ish

there's this village square, then you can see students dancing abit with the locals and watching, further down you can see students baragain at the stalls and stuff

and ya there were chickens running over the place too haha

at night it was sooo cold then we all crammed in 1

room for warmth lol damn cosy =)

2nd day of treking alot more slack, we reached the next pitstop and slacked

me shijun and jiahan were acting gate-guardian/emo-kid haha funny

and the common toilet had no water hahah pee already have to walk far far to wash hands

this 2nd village had a cool watch tower, we braved the wind to go there at night to order supper hahah. and like half the camp was already there eating haha wth

then we had mass polar bear session damn fun

imagine 20-30 guys shouting and pointing like manics hahaha really going to miss it

and the pizza was really cool, it made from yak cheese, kindda sourish and eekish, but hey local flavour =). and they have their own dumplings and they call it momo, damn cute ahaha

3rd day of treking was fun. really fun

all the lame jokes and stuff really kept our morale up, and the hours just went pass so fast. and steew ( ficitional name to protect the identiy of the victim haha =p) got his ass "kicked" by the horn of a bull . but he was damn humourous and joking about this incident lol

last day of treking......

lol i'm really tired now and i bet you are too so i shall try to speed up

learned ncc drills seriously damn cool, uinder the mentorship of the great master sergent toh jiajun and dunno what rank jon heng, we learned it damn fast. jia han and me were laming around creating our own drills and choregraphing our stick fighting hhaha, dammit i dont i have the pictures now lol. then i think i accidentally killed a tree. I just wacked a metal ring thingy with the wooden talking stick and it flew and piecre through some bamboo plant and it started bleeding alot of sap....sorry tree =(

then we went STARGAZING that night

we brought out our chairs and beanies and gloves and camp outside in the freezing night for 3 hours and guess what? WE SAW ALOT ALOT OF SHOOTING STARS

dammit running out of adjectives to describe stuff

the shotting stars were surreal

the first time i saw it i didnt belive it was real , so dream-like

but there were more to come, everytime 1 fell, everyone will like OMG DID YOU SEE THAT and then they start celebrating

like scoring a goal during a soccer match

i saw 6 which was kindda pathetic compared to like chia yuwei and xue yuyu the ones who started it, but i'm super contented i even manage to see 1, now i can die without regrets jk jk

and sorry jon heng, i really cant tell you what i wished for =(

oh ya another funny incident, cai yitian was being an ass and flashing tourchligh on people so they cant see clearly, so 1 guy shouted " eh somebody use theier next wish to curse yitian eh!!"

wahhh, good times man, even though it wasnt even a week ago hahahaha

okay fast forward

next 2 days we went to orphanage and old folks home, but most of it was spend shopping for gifts for YOU PEOPLE zz. For those who didnt get a prezzie from us, really really sorry, cos there really isnt much to buy there, unless you dont mind some exotic necklace with beads and fake gems lol. one of our buses broke down + caught in traffic jam = delay for 3 hours -.-!

so our shopping was greatly jepodised. so me and shijun were like sprinting from shop to shop desperately to buy enough stuff. Oh ya Hwa Peng is like master shopper la, can spend so much, winner.
